The Indian Wood Products Company Limited is an India-based company, which is engaged in the business of processing and marketing of Katha (Catechu) and cutch. Its Catechu product is being used as a mouth freshener with betel quid in India. Mouth fresheners, such as pan masala, use Catechu as the main ingredient in areca nuts and sometimes with chewing tobacco. Its Catechu product is also used as a flavoring agent in condiments, ice-creams, candy, and beverages. Its Catechu product is also used in the treatment of diarrhea, dysentery, ailments of the mouth, gums, and tonsils. Its Cutch product is a natural source for tannins (for tanning of leather). It has applications in oil-drilling, printing ink-pigments, adhesives and others. The Company's Catechins product is used in the treatment of Acute viral hepatities, and as Anti-diabetic, Anti-inflamatory, Anti-Dirrhoea, Anti-dysentry, and Chemo-preventor. It is also traditionally used for treatment of gums and tooths and skin ailments.
