Delta Corp Limited is a leading gaming and hospitality company in India. The flagship company of the Delta Group, it is the only listed company engaged in the casino (live, electronic and online) gaming industry in the country.

The company was incorporated in 1990 as a textiles and real estate consultancy company under the name Creole Holdings Company Pvt Ltd. It has now evolved into diversified segments like casino gaming, online gaming, hospitality and real estate.

Delta Corp, along with subsidiaries, owns and operates casinos in India, in the states of Goa and Sikkim. It also started an international casino in Nepal. The early-mover advantage has helped the company secure a leadership position in the Indian organised gaming and entertainment industry.

Delta Corp’s promoter, Jayant Mody and family, owns 33.26% stake in the company through multiple investment vehicles. Mutual funds hold another 15.73%, while foreign portfolio investors own 5.06% of the company. The remaining 36.32% is held by retail investors.

The company had a market capitalisation of over ₹3,750 crore as of December 21, 2023. Delta Corp share price has dropped nearly 8% in the last three years.

Business operations

Casino gaming, online skill gaming and hospitality are the company’s three primary business segments.

Casino gaming:

Talking of the casino gaming segment in India, Delta holds three of the six offshore gaming licences issued in Goa. Besides that, it has two land-based casinos in Goa and one in Sikkim.

Through the offshore licences, the company currently operates casino vessels Deltin Royale and Deltin JAQK, which are the country’s two largest offshore casinos. It also runs Kings Casino, the only floating hotel with a casino in India.

Among land-based casinos, Delta Corp owns and operates the Deltin Suites (a 106-room, all-suite hotel with a casino located in North Goa) and Deltin Zuri (a casino in a luxury five-star hotel in South Goa). The company also operates the Casino Deltin Denzong located at the Denzong Regency hotel in Gangtok, Sikkim.

In Nepal, Deltin Casino in Kathmandu is a casino run by the company at a 5-star property owned by Marriott Hotels.

Online skill gaming:

Delta Corp operates online skill gaming business through its subsidiary Deltatech Gaming Ltd, formerly known as Gaussian Networks Pvt. Ltd. It owns and operates online poker site Adda52.com, online rummy site Adda52rummy.com and multi-gaming platform Adda.games.

Hospitality:

Delta Corp owns and operates The Deltin, a first and only five-star hotel in Daman, which is an integrated resort with a proposed casino. The Deltin Suites in Goa is also an all-suite hotel in North Goa with an integrated large casino.

Financial highlights

– Delta Corp’s net revenue jumped 65.7% to ₹1,020.77 crore in 2022-23 compared with ₹616.13 in 2021-22. – The company’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) stood at ₹396.73 core as against ₹167.73 crore in FY22, marking a growth 136.53% year-on-year. – EBITDA margin increased to 37.18% in FY23 from 25.64% in FY22 primarily due to an increase in revenue. – The net profit in FY23 rose to ₹261.37 crores as compared to ₹66.99 Crores in FY22 led by higher revenue and optimised costs.
