What happens if a stock in my basket gets delisted or a contract expires?

Upstox automatically removes delisted stocks and expired contracts from your basket. By doing so, any attempt by you to execute invalid orders is prohibited.

When does removal happens?

Removal of stocks from basket happens in cases where,

Stock gets delisted - When a stock is removed from the exchange and hence cannot be traded.

OR

Contract expiry - When any futures or options contracts have crossed the validity date and hence have expired.

What you should know

  • if you have already executed selling orders and the delisting of stock or expiry of contract happens later, you will receive the sale proceeds as usual.

  • if you have executed partial order and delisting or expiry happens after that, the remaining partial basket orders are removed automatically.

  • if the delisting or expiry happens before you execute your basket orders, the affected securities are removed automatically.
