Is trailing stop-loss available with a GTT order?
Yes, a trailing stop-loss feature is available for GTT orders in the Upstox app. A trailing stop-loss leg in a GTT order adjusts the trigger price according to favorable price movement in the market.
If you have a ‘Sell’ GTT order and the share prices rise, the stop loss will also increase. If you have a ‘Buy’ GTT order, the stop loss will decrease as the share prices decrease.
With Upstox, placing GTT orders with a Trailing Stop-Loss Leg is quick and easy. Follow the steps below to enable Trailing Stop Loss on your GTT orders.
Step 1: Open your Upstox App using your Biometric or Pin.
Step 2: If you are on Upstox for Investors, then click on the ‘Trade’ in the bottom right corner of the homepage.
Step 3: Once ‘Upstox for Traders’ opens, click on ‘My Lists’ at the bottom of the screen. A list of companies will appear on your screen.

Step 4: Click on the Company whose shares you want to place a GTT order for. A summary of the company’s stock will be on your screen.

Step 5: Click on the ‘GTT’ toggle in the bottom left corner of your screen. You will have to fill GTT order details. Below the Place Order if price below’, you will see a Stop-Loss checkbox. Check on Stop-Loss (Sell), you will see Trailing stop loss (Sell).

Step 6: Click on ‘Trailing Stop-Loss’ and set your trailing gap as per your preference. Set your Target (Sell) as well.

Step 7: Click on ‘Review Buy/Sell Order’ and click on ‘Submit Order’ once you’ve reviewed your GTT order and your GTT order with a Trailing Stop-Loss is placed.
