HDFC Bank NetBanking - Online Login, Registration, & Activation

' Click-Click' , vyola! it's done. Be it your order from your favorite restaurant or planning your vacation or paying your utility bills, the pace of digitization of services across industries over the last decade has indeed been transformational and overwhelming. We as consumers are now increasingly using digital technology, given its obvious benefits of convenience, speed of execution, security and access to information and enhanced decision making. Let me explain this net banking funda in detail; you may come across a few technical words, don't get bogged down by this, I promise to keep it as simple as I can. Basically, net banking is using your laptop or desktop or your smartphone to carry out your banking transactions through a 'click of a button' instead of visiting your local branch to execute your transactions. Say for example, you need a cheque book, instead of physically visiting the branch, you could place a request online. With a click of a button, you can pay your insurance premiums, your EMIs, your utility bill online. You can avail a loan, transfer funds, generate e- account statements and many more services at your convenience. So basically, through net banking the customer can access his/her account information, products and other services through the Internet at his/her convenience. At this juncture, you may be eager to know as to how to get started with net banking, isn't it? However, as a first time user you may have some resistance, don't worry as the process is very simple. Let me elaborate on this. - To begin with your NetBanking endeavour, you decide to open a simple online savings account with HDFC Bank by logging into the bank's web portal, www.hdfcbank.com through your mobile phone or laptop/desktop. - Secondly, you need to provide basic KYC documents to open a savings account such as your Aadhar card and two passport size photographs. You then submit the KYC documents online and verify yourself through a video call by providing access to your location, microphone and camera on your smartphone with HDFC Bank officials. - You then click on the ' Login' icon which asks you to enter customer ID and password. - As a first time user, you will be provided with customer ID and account number. - You can now begin operating your savings account by creating your own password. - By confirming your registered mobile number, you then input OTP ( One Time Password) which you will receive on your mobile phone - You then input your debit card details ( you would have received this card as a part of the welcome kit) - Set your IPIN (Netbanking password) - Login to HDFC netbanking using the newly set IPIN. Hope we are on the same page. Just wanted to elaborate further, in addition to the online medium, you can also register with HDFC netbanking services through various mediums such as: - ATM - Phone Banking - Visiting HDFC Bank branch

Citibank MMID

- Do you need to send money on an immediate basis, at an odd hour, and on a holiday? - Do you need to send funds quickly, safely, and securely and all you have is a smart device with an internet connection? - Do you need to send funds to a beneficiary whose account details are not known to you? What if all the above unmet needs can be simply addressed by registering your mobile number with your bank account coordinates? The IMPS ( Immediate Payment Services) a payment gateway allows you this service. Let us explore this concept in detail. Initiated by NPCI in 2010, the IMPS platform facilitates the electronic movement of funds from one bank to another within India. You can carry out your financial transactions in real-time, 247, safely, securely, and economically through this platform which can be accessed through Mobile, Internet, ATM, or SMS mode. To carry out a fund movement via IMPS gateway you either require: - MMID code and mobile number of the transacting parties or - Account details and beneficiary's IFSC code. Basically, Mobile Money Identifier is a unique random 7- digit code allotted by the banks to their account holders. This code along with your updated registered number is linked to your account number. Of this 7-digit code, the first four coordinates represent the identity of the bank which is facilitating the IMPS service. The person sending the money i.e. the remitter and the person receiving the money i.e. the beneficiary, both have to generate their unique code from their respective banks for the transaction to complete. Curious to know as to how one generates this code!

Cheque Number

The Ubiquitous cheque!, many of us would have signed or received one ( salary, gift voucher) at some point in time, although most of us execute our banking transactions online. Isn't it?

What is Telegraphic Transfer?

- Working overseas! Do you seek to send money back home to India in Indian currency for your parents? - Studying overseas! Do you seek to receive funds from your parents in India, to meet your tuition fee in foreign currency? - To address these needs, are you seeking a swift, safe, secure , cashless, cardless, economical with minimum currency fluctuation channel to make payments, interbank and cross borders? - You are willing to part with a transaction fee, as long as the fund transfer is safe, secure, swift, simple, seamless and traceable. Welcome to the concept of ' telegraphic transfer', a euphemism for interbank fund transfers that are now carried out electronically, through a variety of channels, netbanking, mobile banking through the SWIFT platform. Way back in the 1990s, the overseas payments were executed between the sender's and recipient bank over the cable wire or telegraph system through the exchange of coded messages. It usually takes anywhere between one to four working days to fulfil the transaction and such payments can be initiated, anytime, anywhere in multiple currencies across multiple geographies. In such overseas payments, the amount is denominated in the currency of the beneficiary bank's country at the prevailing exchange rate. The participating entities usually charge a fee to facilitate such a service.
