It acquires re-performing and non-performing loans; acquires or originates commercial real estate assets, including senior loans, subordinated debt, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, SBC loans, commercial mortgage servicing rights, commercial real estate properties, CRT and SRT transactions, operating businesses, and other securities. The company has elected to be taxed as a real estate investment trust for U.S. federal income tax purposes. As a result, it would not be subject to corporate income tax on that portion of its net income that is distributed to shareholders. The company was formerly Great Ajax Corp. and changed its name to Rithm Property Trust Inc. in December 2024. The company was incorporated in 2014 and is based in New York, New York.
