Right trade at the right muhurat

Blog | News

Traders,

You’ve been waiting all year for the right Muhurat to place your special trade!

For several communities in India, Diwali is the start of a new financial year. Traders and investors celebrate this fresh and auspicious start by trading in the evening hours.

Stock exchanges have historically announced special evening trading hours for the trading community to carry out their rituals. Brokers and traders alike perform a Lakshmi Puja at their workplace and at the exchanges and place trades during Muhurat trading hours. It is believed that Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and prosperity) visits in the evening--that's why traders and store owners keep their businesses open even during Diwali festivities.

The Upstox Team would like to wish you and your family a fun-filled festive season. We wish you a positive Muhurat leading to a profitable trading year ahead. Here’s a schedule to help you plan your Diwali festivities!
