SFC Environmental Technologies is an environmental-technology company providing technologies and engineering solutions across wastewater treatment (WWT), wastewater recycling and reuse (WRR), and solid-waste treatment (SWT).
Incorporated in 2005, the company undertakes design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, equipment supply, installation supervision, commissioning and, in selected projects, operations and maintenance. Its principal proprietary technologies are C-Tech for wastewater treatment and Organic Extraction (OREX) for separating biodegradable material from mixed municipal waste.
WWT is the established core business. C-Tech is an advanced sequencing batch reactor system used for sewage and industrial effluent treatment. As of July 31, 2026, the company had commissioned 728 WWT installations, facilitating treatment of 1,751.1 crore litres per day. Its package includes decanters, diffusers, turbo blowers, fibre-disc filters, solar sludge-drying systems and PLC/SCADA automation. C-Tech offers up to 98% BOD removal, up to 40% lower power consumption and up to 50% lower land requirement than conventional technologies, although actual outcomes remain project-specific.
The WWT business primarily supplies technology, equipment and installation services to EPC companies bidding for municipal and government-funded sewage-treatment projects. WWT accounted for 67.5% of FY26 revenue from operations; it contributed 48.4% in Q1FY27. Its order book stood at ₹641.03 crore on August 31, 2026. The company has delivered WWT technology across 23 states and five union territories; India generated ₹766.2 crore of FY26 external revenue versus ₹37.4 crore from outside India.
WRR is a recently established forward extension into tertiary treatment. The offering covers ultrafiltration, closed-circuit reverse osmosis and membrane-bioreactor projects, supported by an exclusive supply arrangement with DuPont for specified components in India. The first WRR order was secured in July 2025; the segment generated 1.77% of FY26 revenue and had an order book of ₹561.07 crore on August 31, 2026. This provides entry into a faster-growing market, but the short operating history makes conversion of the order book and achievement of stable margins important variables to monitor.
In SWT, SFC supplies technology, turnkey engineering and O&M services through models that include municipal concessions, joint ventures and third-party EPC. Its OREX system separates organic content from mixed municipal waste for downstream biogas generation, while the segment also generates revenue from energy, recyclables, compost, tipping fees and O&M. The company operates two integrated facilities in Goa with 350 TPD combined treatment capacity and a further 75 TPD handling capacity. Through its subsidiary HWTPL, it has secured 10-year engineering, commissioning and O&M orders for 125 TPD and 300 TPD compressed-biogas plants, with a cumulative order value of ₹501.7 crore. SWT contributed 17.4% of FY26 revenue and had a ₹454.5 crore order book on August 31, 2026.
Other operating revenue, including automation and control-panel activities undertaken by subsidiary Chavare Engineering, contributed 13.25% of FY26 revenue. The top customer, top five and top ten customers contributed 14.34%, 47.10% and 64.44% of FY26 revenue, respectively. Conversely, repeat customers represented 91.98% of standalone FY26 revenue, indicating established EPC relationships but not eliminating concentration or contract-renewal risk. The aggregate WWT, WRR and SWT order book was ₹1,656.6 crore on August 31, 2026.
India’s water and wastewater-treatment market was estimated at ₹29,200 crore in FY26 and is forecast by the industry report to reach ₹45,500 crore by FY31, a 9.3% CAGR. The Indian tertiary-treatment market is projected to grow from ₹1,870 crore in FY26 to ₹7,013 crore in FY31, a 30.26% CAGR, supported by water scarcity, reuse requirements and tighter discharge standards. SFC participates through its installed C-Tech base and new UF, CCRO and MBR portfolio; this creates an avenue to supply greenfield projects and add tertiary systems to existing plants, although the company must convert a new WRR pipeline into executed revenue.
In solid waste, India generated approximately 59.2 MTPA of municipal waste as of January 2026, of which approximately 48.1 MTPA was processed. MSW-related revenue potential is forecast to rise from ₹21,740 crore in FY26 to ₹32,920 crore in FY31, while the estimated value of India’s CBG market is projected to increase from ₹9,350 crore to ₹1,45,750 crore. SFC’s OREX technology, operating Goa facilities and new CBG orders provide direct exposure to resource recovery and biomethanation; however, feedstock quality, segregation, government contracting and project-capital requirements remain constraints.
Now, SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd is launching its Initial public offering (IPO), which consists of a fresh issue of ₹150 crore and an offer for sale of ₹518 crore. The total issue size of the IPO is ₹668 crore. Its shares will be listed on the NSE and BSE.
