We’re excited to be back with our latest blog for June to update you on what’s new on Upstox! This month, our focus has been on building an important feature for our trader community.
⚙️Order Slicing (Android)
As a trader, managing large orders (beyond freeze limits) can be challenging, especially when it comes to entering and exiting them. So far, traders had to place orders multiple times. But not anymore! Upstox's auto order slicing feature divides large orders into multiple smaller ones, allowing for more effective management of trades.
For example, the Freeze Quantity for NIFTY is 1800. If you enter an order for 5000, our Order Slicing feature will automatically slice your quantity of 5000 into 3 orders of 1800, 1800, and 1400 and place the orders.
⚙️UpLink: The API platform (open to all)
We’ve launched UPLink, our new API platform to help you build your own trading universe. Enjoy faster performance with best in the industry request and response time. ⚙️Discover stocks to pledge directly from the app (Android)
The ‘Pledge’ tab in your ‘Holdings’ section will now empower you to view and pledge stocks in just 2 clicks. This section will give detailed information about pledged holdings in the user’s portfolio.

Ask questions, learn, build your skills, everything under one place! Exchange knowledge and strategies about trading and investing to bridge the gap between theory and practical application. Additionally, this platform will keep you updated on all of our product launches, new features, and announcements. You are free to submit your own requests and suggestions too! ⚙️F&O Discover (Web)
The F&O Discover section has already been rolled out on the app and now it’s also available on the web! This section offers valuable insights to help you make informed decisions. We’ve introduced Smartlists, OI charts, and major Global Indices to easily identify potential trading opportunities and manage risk. Altogether, the F&O Discover section provides an in-depth view of the F&O market to keep you ahead of the curve.
⚙️Live News Updates (beta version)
With this feature, traders and investors will receive curated news to manage trades better with real-time push notifications. This will give them a time advantage to quickly make investment or trading decisions.
⚙️UX improvements in order entry for faster order placement
We’ve made some UX improvements for a better experience -
(1) Your last order preferences will be saved so that you don’t have to select every time, thereby managing time more effectively
(2) Quantity will be empty by default so that you can simply enter the desired quantity and place your trade
(3) Keyboard will be kept closed by default to manage time more efficiently
