ICICI Prudential Flexicap Fund is an open-ended scheme that will invest across large, mid and small cap stocks. The NFO will close on 12 July. Here are the important highlights about the scheme.
Good to know
Flexicap Fund A flexicap fund invests in companies or stocks across market capitalisation. This helps in reducing risks and volatility. Flexicap funds were earlier referred to as multicap funds. |
Investment objective
The scheme aims to invest in companies across market capitalisation. The fund will use a mix of top-down and bottom-up strategies.
A top-down investment approach, which includes looking at parameters such as economic indicators, policy response and inflation, will be predominantly used to hunt opportunities in large cap space. Meanwhile, a bottom-up investment style takes into consideration parameters such as growth outlook, management track record and valuations and will be deployed for primarily investing in mid and small cap space.
The tentative asset allocation of the fund will be between 50-100% for large cap and up to 50% for mid and small caps.
The ability to move across market caps provides the fund with the flexibility to manoeuvre various market cycles and mitigates risks. Also, these traits help in compounding investors’ money over the long term.
