Upstox’s Margin Trading Facility lets you trade with just 50% of your own funds and borrow the remaining 50% from Upstox. To avail this, you just need to activate Margin Trading Facility (MTF) on Upstox and trade away!

You can return the money in any of the following two ways:
Stocks bought with MTF appear under the Positions tab (not Holdings). So, you need to exit your ‘positions’ within 90 days (of purchase).

*Before you get started, remember to activate it. *
This is a quick, easy, paperless and one-time process, simply follow these steps:
  • Log into your Upstox account
  • Select an NSE Cash Stock listed in the Futures & Options segment. You can find a complete list of such stocks here.
  • Choose ‘Delivery’ as the product type.
  • You’ll see ‘Get up to 50% funds from us’ with a ‘Learn more’ button. Tap on it, to learn more about MTF and read all the terms and conditions related to it.
  • Scroll down and click on ‘Activate Margin Trading Facility’
  • After reading the terms and conditions click on ‘I accept the terms and conditions’
  • Click on ‘Continue’ to enter OTP.
  • Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and click on ‘Verify OTP’
  • After this is processed, you will see a message saying that your activation was successful. Once activated, MTF will be available to use immediately.
