Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd is one of the leading integrated sugarcane processing companies. It is one of India’s most diversified sugar companies, producing sugar, ethanol, chemicals and co-generated power.
It was established in the year 1933 with a daily cane processing capability of 300 tonnes. In 1991, the company was among India’s first sugar companies to venture into chemical production, utilising the molasses byproduct from sugarcane processing to create a new business. Since then, Dhampur Sugar started producing ethyl acetate.
As on March 31, 2023, Dhampur Sugar possessed a daily cane processing capacity of 23,500 tonnes. Its distillery possessed a capacity of 350 KLPD (kilo litres per day), while the power generation capacity was 121 MW by the close of 2022-23.
In April 2021, Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd was demerged into two companies to divide the assets to enable succession planning. The demerger resulted in Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd owning and operating two integrated sugarcane crushing complexes in western Uttar Pradesh at Dhampur and Rajpura.
