Adani Green, Premier Energies shine; Waaree Energies shares slide: here's how renewable stocks performed on March 27

Renewable energy stocks: Gautam Adani-led Adani Green, NTPC Green Energy, Premier Energies, KPI Green Energy, and ACME Solar Holdings shares settled in the positive territory on Thursday, March 27.

In contrast, Waaree Energies and Suzlon Energy ended lower.

Waaree Energies' share price fell 0.23% to ₹2,421.4 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹69,562.75 crore.

NTPC Green Energy shares advanced 2.82% to ₹102.8 a unit. In an exchange filing on Tuesday, the company, based on a certificate from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL), declared commercial operation of the third and final capacity of 100 MW out of the 320 MW Bhainsara Solar Photovoltaic Project of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd in Jaisalmer.

Shares of KPI Green Energy closed at ₹413 apiece, reflecting an increase of 1.28%. On Tuesday, the company's subsidiary, Sun Drops Energia, received letters of Award to develop solar power projects with a capacity of 13.80 MW. "These projects will be developed in accordance with the Distributed Renewable Energy Bilateral Purchase (DREBP) Policy, as outlined in the Gujarat Renewable Energy Policy-2023 and GERC Tariff Order No 5 & 6 of 2024," the company had said.

Premier Energies stock surged 5.1% to ₹944 per share. Its market capitalisation stands at ₹42,553.10 crore, while free float m-cap is ₹5,281.11 crore.

Meanwhile, benchmark indices closed in green. NIFTY accelerated 0.45% to 23,591, while SENSEX jumped 317 points to 77,606.

In the NIFTY pack, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, NTPC and BPCL were top gainers.

Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Eicher Motors, Apollo Hospitals and Bharti Airtel were top laggards.

US markets ended lower. The Dow Jones fell 0.31%, while the S&P 500 slipped 1.12%.
