Renewable energy stocks settled lower on Wednesday, March 26. Shares of NTPC Green Energy, Adani Green Energy, Premier Energies, Suzlon Energy, KPI Green Energy, Waaree Energies and ACME Solar Holdings fell.

Waaree Energies shares declined 0.72% to ₹2,423.4 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹69,620.21 crore.

In an exchange filing on Tuesday, the company informed that it will inaugurate its 5.4 gigawatts (GW) state-of-the-art solar cell manufacturing facility at Chikhli in Gujarat's Navsari on March 29.

NTPC Green Energy shares settled at ₹99.51 apiece on the NSE, reflecting a decline of 0.74%.

On Tuesday, the company, in a regulatory filing, said, "We wish to inform you that based on the certificate received on 25th March 2025 from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited, the third & last part capacity of 100 MW out of 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan awarded under SECI Raj-Tranche-III tender, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 20.03.2025."

Adani Green Energy stock descended 1.23% to ₹912 per unit on the NSE, with a market capitalisation of ₹1,44,463.76 crore.

Premier Energies and Suzlon Energy also slipped 1.87% and 0.40%, respectively.

KPI Green Energy, in an exchange filing, said its subsidiary Sun Drops Energia Pvt Ltd has received Letters of Award (LoA) for the development of solar power projects with a capacity of 13.80 megawatt (MW) under its Captive Power Producer (CPP) business segment. The stock is down 4% to ₹408.

Meanwhile, benchmark indices closed lower. SENSEX is down 728 points to 77,288, while NIFTY fell 0.77% to 23,486. NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finance are top laggards in the NIFTY pack.
