Piramal Enterprises Limited was incorporated in April 1947. The company was originally named Indian Schering Limited and operated as a subsidiary of British Schering Limited. In 2012, the name of the company was changed to Piramal Enterprises Limited.

PCHFL provides end-to-end housing finance solutions. The company offers wholesale and retail funding opportunities across various sectors. Real estate and infrastructure, renewable energy, hospitality, logistics, industrials and auto components are the major sectors catered by Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Limited.
Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Limited provides financing solutions. Its offerings cover the entire capital stack such as structured debt, construction finance, flexi lease rental discounting, etc., in the real estate segment. The wholesale business of Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Limited in the non-real estate sector is divided into separate verticals – Corporate Finance and Emerging Corporate Lending (ECL). The Corporate Finance vertical offers customized funding solutions to companies in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, industrials and auto components. The Emerging Corporate Lending vertical aims to provide funds to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Piramal Alternatives is the fund management business of Piramal Enterprises Limited. It offers customised financing solutions to corporate entities. India Access Fund of Funds, Piramal Credit Fund (PCF), Hybrid Growth Fund and India Resurgence Fund (IndiaRF) are the company’s top offerings.
Piramal Enterprises Limited has a varied investment portfolio. It holds a 50% stake in Pramerica Life Insurance, a joint venture with Prudential International Insurance Holdings. The company has equity shareholding in the Shriram Group, a leading financial conglomerate in India.
Piramal Enterprises has also emerged as one of the largest housing finance companies in India after acquiring Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL). Piramal Enterprises completed the integration of DHFL into the company in FY23.
