Pennar Industries is a company with a significant presence in the infrastructure, automobiles, power, general engineering and construction sectors in India.
Pennar was established in 1975 in Hyderabad and was promoted in the joint sector in association with Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (APIDC). The primary objective of the company was to manufacture cold-rolled steel grips, tubes and pipes.
It also got into an agreement with Metallurgical and Engineering Consultants India Ltd (MECON) for the manufacture, supply, erection and commission of the cold rolling mill. They were also involved in supplying the drawings, designs of utilities, and services.
In 1989, the company installed a setup of two generating sets of 800 KVA. It also received a letter of intent to expand their operations from 12,000 TPA to 50,000 TPA. In 1991, Pennar Industries incorporated Thomas & Beffs Pennar Ltd in collaboration with Thomas & Beffs Corporation, USA.
By 1994, the company was taking extra measures to cope with the demand for its products from domestic and international markets. The same year, they installed a 3MW wind power plant in Coimbatore. Pennar Industries continued to manufacture products for multiple other industries and markets across the globe.
In 2010, Pennar Industries launched a new manufacturing facility to produce pre-engineered products for the market. It bagged an order from Larsen & Taurbo in 2011 to manufacture and supply components for Chennai metro workshops. The company also got three other prestigious projects in the same year from Tata Steel Group, ABB Limited and Volvo.
In 2013, Pennar Industries got into the hydraulics business in India. The company also got orders from companies like Integral Coach Factory, Texmaco, J Kumar Infra Projects, ALF Engineering, IVRCL and IJM Infrastructure. By 2014, the company also collaborated with building and construction companies. It also bagged orders from Ultratech, Reliance Industries and Abhi Infra. Pennar Industries also collaborated with the Kannur International Airport development authority to supply components for the project.
Business Operations
Pennar Industries works in multiple sectors through multi-location manufacturing and domain expertise. It has three subsidiaries: Pennar Global Inc. USA, Pennar GMBH and Pennar Cadnum. These subsidiaries work under the umbrella of Pennar to manufacture and supply goods to domestic and international markets.
Pennar Global is based in Houston and supplies engineering products from hydraulics, precision tubes, and engineering services throughout US. The company has started a manufacturing facility in Portland, Tennessee, for manufacturing and supplying metal buildings.
For European clients, Pennar GMBH is based in Germany to supply engineering services to them. They are expanding their portfolio to supply products for Europe's Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Oil & Gas, Building, and Infrastructure sectors. Pennar Cadnum is present in France and caters to the molds and patterns industry.
The company has over 1000 engineering products for their clients and more than 500 clients across the globe. Internationally, it has 13 manufacturing setups.
