Heritage Foods Limited is a major player in the dairy and agri products sectors. The company is one of the largest private sector players in the dairy industry in south India.

The company, established in 1992, has three main business divisions: dairy, retail and agri products. The company has a significant presence in southern states. The company has also diversified into bakery and renewable energy segments.

The company sells a wide variety of bakery and dairy products. Its dairy products range includes full cream milk, toned milk, double toned milk, cow milk, ghee, curd, paneer, fresh cream, lassi, ice cream and frozen desserts.

The Market capitalisation of Heritage Foods Ltd stood at over ₹2,900 crore as of February 7, 2024. Heritage Foods share price has surged more than 13% in the last three years.

Heritage Foods business operations

Heritage Foods caters to the markets in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Odisha, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh through its dairy products.

The primary procurement base of the company is in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The presence of a large, hybrid and high yielding cow population in the area helped the company to expand its business.

The leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) player has a robust distribution network and an omni-channel presence. The company’s products are distributed through a standardised network that spans 11 states comprising 146 Heritage happiness stations.

The company has entered into partnerships with over 3,00,000 dairy farmers over the years in order to procure milk from them in eight states. It has a strong online presence on sixteen e-commerce platforms. The company uses state-of-the-art equipment for processing and production, and it has a robust R&D strategy. For the purpose of producing premium milk, milk products, and dairy products with additional value, milk is purchased directly from farmers. The company has also introduced canned sweets like rasgulla and gulab jamun; and fruit yogurt, milk shake and glucose-based drinks.

The company's whole product range is sold at Heritage Parlours and Heritage happiness centres, which are franchised storefronts and distribution centres. A total of 859 upscale heritage parlours and 121 legacy happiness centres are part of the company's distribution network. The products of Heritage Foods are available at 1.3 lakh grocery stores, 27 organised retail chains and 16 e-commerce websites. The company served nearly 15 lakh households daily.

It boasts a highly qualified staff to oversee its operations and guarantees excellent quality control. To provide fresh and wholesome products, the company operates 201 bulk coolers, 18 processing units, and micro chilling and chilling centres.

In the renewable energy sector the company has a total installed capacity of 10.5 megawatt. This includes 4.2MW solar energy and 6.3MW wind power.

The company’s agri products division is involved in manufacturing of cattle feed products, cattle feed supplements, fish feed products, fish feed supplements and veterinary medicines.
