Amber Enterprises is a company that delivers solutions for the Original Equipment Manufacturer/Original Design Manufacturer (OEM/ODM) segment of the air conditioning market. Though the company is known for its room air conditioners (RACs), it also produces other consumer electronics components. Its manufacturing sites are spread across the country and are focused on different product categories.

Amber Enterprises’ wide range of products includes window air conditioners, room air conditioners, outdoor and indoor units, along with replacement parts. The company also provides mobility systems specifically designed for defence applications, buses, metros and railways.

Amber Enterprises provides solutions for larger tonnage air conditioners in the commercial air conditioner (CAC) space.

With a market capitalisation of over ₹12,500 crore as of February 27, 2024, Amber Enterprises is listed both on BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Amber Enterprises share price has gained over 15% in the last three years.

Business operations

Since it was founded in 1990, Amber Enterprises has grown to become a prominent player in the air conditioner market in India. On September 22, 2017, the company, which had been initially incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, as Amber Enterprises India Private Limited, transitioned to a public limited company.

Amber Enterprises started small in 1994, operating out of a single facility in Rajpura, Punjab. Since then, the company has undergone remarkable expansion. Currently, it operates a network of 27 manufacturing sites across nine Indian states — Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

An important aspect of Amber Enterprises’ business activities is research and development. Amber’s R&D facilities, which span 22,287 square feet, are housed in an office building and laboratory that is fully equipped.

Business Divisions

Amber Enterprises offers a comprehensive range of products across sectors: Room Air Conditioners: To meet a variety of cooling needs, the company specialises in split air conditioners, window room air conditioners and inverter split air conditioners.

Components (RAC & Non-RAC)

Amber produces heat exchangers and coils, two crucial parts of air conditioning systems. To ensure quality and effectiveness in every step of the air conditioning process, the company also produces cross-flow fans (CFF), plastic extrusions, copper tubing, sheet metal components, vacuum forming goods and tooling.

Motors

Amber has experience creating electric motors that are suited for both industrial and domestic use. This includes producing single phase PSC motors to fulfil a variety of motor requirements and BLDC Motors, which are known for their better efficiency over a wide speed range.

Mobility Applications

Recognising the diverse needs of transportation and defence sectors, Amber offers specific air conditioning solutions for buses, trains and metros. The company also provides air conditioning solutions specifically designed for the defence, telecom and IT industries.

Electronics

Amber also produces electronic goods. Some of its products are Bluetooth speakers, split AC IDU inverter control boxes, BLDC washing machines, telecom radio remote head units, smart watches and more.
