Benchmark equity indices SENSEX and NIFTY ended lower on Wednesday, after hitting fresh record high levels during the morning trade, dragged by IT stocks as investors preferred to book profits ahead of the keenly-awaited US Fed's decision on interest rates.
The 30-share BSE SENSEX dropped 131.43 points or 0.16% to settle at 82,948.23. During the day, it climbed 246.72 points or 0.29% to scale a new all-time intra-day peak of 83,326.38.
The NSE NIFTY also declined 41 points or 0.16% to close at 25,377.55. During the day, it advanced 63.65 points or 0.25% to hit a fresh intra-day lifetime high of 25,482.20.

Tata Power arm bags 400 MW hybrid project from MSEDCL
Tata Power Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Tata Power, on Wednesday said it has secured a 400 MW wind-solar hybrid project from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL).
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has successfully secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from MSEDCL, a wholly-owned entity under the Maharashtra government, for the development of a 400 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Maharashtra, a statement said.

Lupin signs patent licence pact with Takeda for novel gastrointestinal drug in Indian market
Home-grown pharma major Lupin Ltd on Wednesday said it has entered into a non-exclusive patent licence agreement with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd to commercialise Vonoprazan tablets, a novel gastrointestinal drug, in the Indian market.
Under the terms of this agreement, Takeda has granted Lupin non-exclusive patent licensing rights to commercialise Vonoprazan in India, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Reliance Infra cuts standalone debt by 87%
Anil Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has slashed its standalone debt by 87% to ₹475 crore after it cleared outstanding dues of Life Insurance Corporation of India, ICICI Bank and other lenders, the firm said on Wednesday.
In stock exchange filings and press statements, Reliance Infrastructure said its standalone external debt has reduced from ₹3,831 crore to ₹475 crore.
"Consequently, the net worth of the company will stand at ₹9,041 crore," it said.

SENSEX, NIFTY hit fresh record high levels
Benchmark equity indices SENSEX and NIFTY hit their fresh record high levels during the morning trade on Wednesday, driven by buying in blue-chip stocks HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank and fresh foreign fund inflows.
Recovering all the early lost ground, the 30-share BSE SENSEX climbed 230.66 points to scale a new all-time peak of 83,310.32.
The NSE NIFTY also advanced 60.05 points to hit a fresh lifetime high of 25,478.60.
