Equity benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY took a breather on Friday after a record rally in the previous session and ended marginally lower on the emergence of profit-taking.

In a volatile trade, the 30-share BSE SENSEX fell by 71.77 points or 0.09% to close at 82,890.94. During the day, it dived 309.49 points or 0.37% to 82,653.22.

The NSE NIFTY dropped 32.40 points or 0.13% to 25,356.50.

Lignite-to-power producer NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) will invest around ₹50,000 crore to ramp up its renewable energy capacity from 1.43 GW to 10.11 GW.

NLC India Green Energy Limited (NIGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NLCIL, is established with special focus on renewable energy generation, an official statement said on Friday.

Benchmark indices traded flat on Friday, with NIFTY50 down 0.02% and SENSEX up 20 points. In the NIFTY50 space, 30 stocks declined. HDFC Life, SBI Life and ITC were among the top losers.

HCL Technologies’ software business division – HCLSoftware, has completed the acquisition of Zeenea, an innovator in data catalog and governance solutions based in Paris, France. HCLSoftware will enhance its Data & Analytics business (Actian) through this acquisition.

Esports company Nazara Technologies on Friday said it will invest ₹982 crore in Moonshine Technology, which owns real money gaming platform PokerBaazi.

As part of the deal, Nazara will buy a 47.7% stake in Moonshine Technology for ₹831.51 crore comprising ₹592.26 crore cash transaction and a share swap worth ₹239.25 crore.

Benchmark indices opened lower on Friday, with NIFTY50 down 0.1% and SENSEX shedding 110 points. In the NIFTY50 space, 28 stocks declined. Divi's Lab, Adani Enterprises and Asian Paints were among the top losers.
