As many as 39 stocks hit their lowest level in 52 weeks on Tuesday, January 21, on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) amid a selloff in broader markets.
The NIFTY 50 index was down 121 points, or 0.5%, to 23,223.80 at 12:56 pm. The BSE SENSEX also fell 445 points, or 0.6%, to 76,628.23.
The volatility index, or India VIX, jumped 5.3% to 17.29. All the sectoral indices were trading in the red, except the FMCG index.

Last week, mobility technology solutions provider Sona BLW Precision announced that it has inked an initial pact with TIHAN-IIT Hyderabad for connected autonomous and electric technologies for drones, automated guidance vehicles and electric vertical take-off and landing. The memorandum of understanding will enable the two entities to cooperate, synergise strengths and support each other in the areas of autonomous vehicle technologies.
At the fresh 52-week low level, the stock has declined more than 19% from its listing price.
Shares of Dam Capital Advisors made an impressive stock market debut on December 27, 2024, listing at ₹393 apiece on the NSE. The stock was listed at a premium of 38.9% over the issue price of ₹283 per share.
The recent correction in ACME Solar shares is seen as a part of selloff in the broader equity markets. The stock price had peaked in early-December on announcements that the company secured multiple new renewable energy projects.
