About Nippon India ETF NIFTY 50 BEES
- Nippon India ETF NIFTY 50 BEES is an exchange traded fund (ETF) that tracks the performance of NIFTY 50 TRI (Total Return Index).
- The ETF tracks a basket of India’s top 50 companies based on their market capitalisation across sectors and listed on the NSE.
- The fund came into existence on December 28, 2001, and is currently being managed by Himanshu Mange.
- The ETF’s net asset value (NAV) was ₹272 per unit as of July 12, 2024.
- Nippon India ETF NIFTY 50 BEES market capitalisation stood at ₹30,044 crore on the NSE (as of July 12, 2024).
Investment objective & Benchmark
- The fund is benchmarked to NIFTY 50 TRI. To replicate the performance of the benchmark, the fund invests in the components of the NIFTY 50 in the same proportion as in the index.
- The objective of the fund is to give returns similar to that of the benchmark index, subject to tracking errors.
- The ETF could be suitable for long term wealth creation but carries risk of market volatility.
- As the fund tracks the performance of the NIFTY 50 index, it offers an opportunity to bet on the largest companies across sectors.
- NIFTY 50 index comprises companies that have largest marketcap in their segment, deep financial might and excellent corporate governance.
- Nippon India ETF NIFTY 50 BEES is listed on the BSE and the NSE and an investor can easily invest in it by buying from an online brokerage platform, just like buying a stock.
- The fund’s performance in the last several years has been impressive as the Indian stock market benchmark has been in a strong bullish run since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
- The Nippon India ETF NIFTY 50 BEES has given a return of nearly 16.55% in the last five years, a 16.49% return in the last 3 years and a 26.7% return in the last one year. Since inception, the ETF has given 16.22% return.
