UIDAI Grievance Redressal
An active grievance redressal mechanism has been set by UIDAI, which includes multiple channels, assisting people who wish to file any complaint or raise queries and get them addressed. Some of these are mentioned below:
- Through Toll-free Number: People can call at 1947 or get their grievances addressed over the phone.
Alternatively, people can address the Regional Centers to resolve their issues.
- By E-mail: People can share their grievances by sending a mail to and complaint to help@uidai.gov.in
- By Post: A grievance can be sent to the UIDAI's Regional Offices or Headquarters via post. The grievances are examined and sent to the respective Regional Office or Concerned Section. It is worth mentioning that the Deputy Director must approve the grievance before it is sent to the Regional office. The concerned Regional Office or Concerned Section disposes of the grievance online. Interim replies may be provided if needed.
How to file a complaint online through the Resident Portal?
Grievances can be filed via UIDAI's Public Grievance Portal. This portal is called the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS)
It is worth mentioning that you need to be a registered user to lodge a complaint using the portal. If the user is registered, then complete the user login process using the steps given below:
- Step 1: Navigate the portal http://pgportal.gov.in/.
- Step 2: Select your preferred language - English/Hindi.
- Step 3: Enter the Username/Mobile Number/Email ID.
- Step 4: Enter the password.
- Step 5: Enter the Security Code provided in the box.
- Step 6: Click on the Login option.
You must fill out the Registration/Sign up Form if you are not registered.
Once you successfully register, you can lodge a complaint using the method given below:
- Navigate to the portal http: //pgportal.gov.in/
- Click on 'Grievance' on the main tab
- Click the option 'Lodge Public Grievance.'
Explain the Grievance Redressal Process
Once the grievance is submitted, the process followed to resolve your issue is mentioned below:
- The issue is examined and passed on to the respective Regional Office or the Concerned Section at the headquarter upon seeking approval from the Deputy Director.
- The respective regional officer or the Concerned Section will respond online to the grievance.
- If interim replies are to be given, the Regional Office or Concerned Section will do so online.
