Top gainers and losers on March 13: Shriram Finance, Hero Motocorp top losers

NIFTY50 and SENSEX, ended lower on March 13, 2025, due to selling pressure in stocks like Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, and Infosys. Bharat Electronics was among the top gainers. Meanwhile, NIFTY Smallcap and Midcap indices also closed lower.

The Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Thursday, March 13. The NIFTY50 index closed below its important psychological level of 22,400 while the 30-share SENSEX closed 200 points lower at 73,828 dragged down by weakness in index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel. For most part of the day, SENSEX and NIFTY50 indices traded higher but succumbed to selling pressure in noon deals.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Shriram Finance was top NIFTY50 loser, the stock fell 2.66% to close at ₹620. Hero Motocorp (-2.26%), Tata Motors (-2.04%), HDFC Life (-1.80%) and IndusInd Bank (-1.76%).

Bharat Electronics was top NIFTY50 gainer. The stock rose 1.18% to close at ₹280.10 after the company post market hours on Wednesday informed exchanges that it has signed a contract with Ministry of Defence worth ₹2,463 crore.

Bharat Electronics in a stock exchange filing said that it has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence for the supply and services of radars. "These fully indigenous AESA radars developed jointly by DRDO and BEL have integrated IFF with electronic scanning in azimuth and elevation and are capable of 4D surveillance," Bharat Electronics said.

State Bank of India (0.68%), Cipla, (0.40%), ICICI Bank (0.38%) and Power Grid (0.36%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended 0.75% lower on Thursday. 72 shares in the index ended lower led by PB Fintech's 5.9% fall. The company launched a monthly mode car insurance policy, a first for the car insurance industry. Bharat Forge fell 4.7% on reports that its business could take a hit after the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it would roll back Biden administration regulations aimed at reducing pollution levels.

Sona Comstar (-3.53%), Voltas (-3.34%) and Paytm (-2.84%) were also among the laggards. On the other hand, MRPL (+6.25%), Solar Industries (+2.90%), Mazagon Dock (+2.41%), Oil India (+2.39%) and Mankind Pharma (+1.87%) were among the gainers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index declined nearly 1% on Thursday and 73 shares in the index closed lower while 26 ended higher and one stock remained unchanged. KEC International was the top loser from the smallcap space. The stock declined 5.54% to close at ₹675. Redington India (-4.22%), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (-3.82%), Zee Entertainment (-3.49%) and SW Solar (-3.44%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, ITI Limited was top gainer from the smallcap space, the stock rose 5% to close at ₹253.36. Data Patterns (4.08%), Chennai Petro (3.11%), 360 One Wam (2.78%) and Computer Age Management Services (2.68%) were among the gainers.
