NBCC shares fall about 3% despite bagging ₹264 crore construction order

Shares of NBCC Ltd tumbled 2.78% to their intraday low of ₹78.83 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) despite bagging a construction order worth ₹264.16 crore from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra on Monday, February 24.

The project management consultancy order is for constructing buildings like the academic block, the hostel block, the residential block, the director’s residence, the vertical extension of hostels and academic buildings and other external development work of NIT Kurukshetra in Haryana.

The construction will be undertaken under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Wins orders worth ₹852 crore

On February 14, NBCC informed the bourses that it won two deals aggregating to ₹851.69 crore.

The first deal, signed with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), worth ₹776.75 crore, is for constructing buildings and associated works of the township at the DVC Administrative Building in Kolkata.

The second deal is a two-year-long maintenance contract amounting to ₹74.94 crore from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Valid from FY 2025-26 to FY 2026-27, it covers the maintenance work of the New MotiBagh GPRA Complex (NMB Complex).

Stock performance

Shares of NBCC Ltd closed in red at ₹80, down 1.33% on the NSE on Monday.

The stock fell 1.25% over the last week and 19.91% in the last month. The scrip slumped 13.99% on a year-to-date basis.

NBCC has a total market capitalisation of ₹21,645.90 crore, as of February 24, 2025, on the NSE.
