Tata Motors bags big EV order

Tata Motors announced that it has secured an order of 921 electric buses from Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). In the last one month, Tata Motors has already secured orders for 1,500 electric buses from Delhi Transport Corporation and 1,180 electric buses from West Bengal Transport Corporation. 

 

Air passenger traffic dips in July

Domestic airlines carried nearly 97 lakh passengers in July. This figure is 7.7% lower as compared to June. Meanwhile, IndiGo’s market share continued to rise followed by Vistara, Air India, and GoFIRST. . The passenger load factor (PLF), an important metric for aviation companies, declined for IndiGo, AirAsia India, GoFIRST in July as compared to June. However, Vistara and SpiceJet saw an uptick in PLF in July. 

 

India adds record solar capacity in H1 2022

As per a report, India’s solar capacity installations surged by 59% to a record 7.2 gigawatt (GW) during the first half of 2022. During January-June 2021, India had added 4.5 GW of solar capacity. India's integrated installed solar capacity now stands at 57 GW. In H1 2022, Rajasthan and Gujarat accounted for 53% and 14% of installations, followed by Maharashtra at 9%.
