JSW Steel sees surge in production 

JSW Steel’s crude steel production rose 14% year-on-year (YoY) to 15.69 lakh tonnes in July. The company said its production of flat rolled products grew at 15% to 10.72 lakh tonnes. Meanwhile, production of long items rose by 10% to 3.65 lakh tonnes. The company has an installed crude steel capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) in India, which is likely to touch 37 MTPA by FY25.

 

Power Grid reports fall in profit

State-owned Power Grid reported a 37% YoY fall in its consolidated net profit at ₹3,801 crore. However, revenue from operations stood at ₹10,905 crore, up nearly 7% YoY. On segment-wise performance, the company's transmission business revenue stood at ₹10,702 crore, rising by 5.9% YoY. Meanwhile, its consultancy and telecom businesses clocked a revenue of ₹235 crore and ₹190 crore, rising by 50% and 60% YoY, respectively.

 

⭐ Whirlpool’s profit rises three-fold

Whirlpool of India, the maker of washing machines and refrigerators, reported a three-fold rise in its consolidated net profit at ₹84 crore. The jump in profit was aided by price-led sales growth. Revenue from operations surged 55% to ₹2,081 crore due to the low-base effect. As per the management, the industry witnessed a recovery in the mid and premium segments, while growth in the entry segment was muted due to inflation.
