Global Markets Update

SGX Nifty is trading flat; up by 9 points. Major Asian markets are trading mixed with Nikkei trading up by nearly 0.6% and Hang Seng trading down by nearly 0.4%. 

European markets closed flat to negative in the range of 0.3% to 0.5%. US markets also closed flat to positive with the Dow Jones closing 6 points lower and NASDAQ closing 0.6% higher.


Long Build-up was seen in stocks like Crompton, Shriram Transport Finance, Bank of Baroda, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Biocon.   

Short Build-up was seen in stocks like GAIL, Metropolis, Voltas, Berger Paints and Godrej Properties.

FII/DII Activity**

In the cash market, FIIs were net sellers for ₹2,818 crore while DIIs were net buyers for ₹428 crore. In the Derivatives market, FIIs sold index futures worth ₹1,538 crore while they bought Index options worth ₹6,336 crore. For stocks, they sold stock futures worth ₹1,938 crore and sold stock options worth ₹329 crore.


Index Action

Nifty50

Nifty50 saw profit-booking for the 3rd consecutive session yesterday as it closed down by 88 points at 18,178.   

India VIX dropped marginally to 18.03 levels.   

The October monthly series options have sizable positions at 18,200 and 18,400 call options and 18,200 and 17,500 put options. Further additions were seen at both 18,200 call and put options. 

Options data suggests a broad range for Nifty50 at 17,500 and 18,800 levels and its immediate support at 17,900 and resistance at 18,400 levels. 

Bank Nifty

Bank Nifty crossed the 40,000 mark yesterday as it closed 512 points higher at 40,030 levels. 

The October monthly series options have significant positions at 40,500 and 40,000 call options and 39,000 and 39,500 put options. 

Options data suggests a range for Bank Nifty as 39,000 and 41,000. It’s Immediate support at 39,500 and resistance at 40,500 levels.
