Investment Objective & Benchmark
- The primary objective of the CPSE ETF is to provide investors with exposure to a diversified portfolio of government-owned companies. It's also a tool for the government to meet its divestment targets.
- The ETF consists of bonds issued by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).
- It is benchmarked against the Nifty CPSE Index.
- The ETF is composed of stocks from government-owned companies in various sectors such as energy, finance and coal.
- The companies in the Nifty CPSE Index are selected based on factors like market capitalisation, government holding and liquidity. They are also required to have paid dividends consistently over the last three years.
- The CPSE ETF has a reputation for high dividend yields, as many of the constituent companies are known for paying regular dividends.
- The CPSE ETF has seen multiple tranches of fund offerings in the past few years, providing retail and institutional investors opportunities to invest in these government-owned companies. The government has used these tranches to raise significant capital as part of its disinvestment strategy.
