How To Link Your Aadhaar To Your Mobile Number : Steps & Process

Linking Aadhaar To Mobile Number Online

If Aadhaar card holders want to opt for the online linking method, they can complete the process from the comfort of their homes to their workplace(or any other). The following is a step-by-step guide for doing so:

  • Step 1: Go to the website of your telecom operator.
  • Step 2: Input the mobile number that has to be connected, verified or re-confirmed with Aadhaar.
  • Step 3: An OTP will be sent to the registered phone number.
  • Step 4: Enter the OTP and press "Submit" to continue.
  • Step 5: The screen would then show a message requesting approval. The 12-digit Aadhaar number to be linked has to be entered now.
  • Step 6: The telecom operator will then send an OTP generation message to your mobile phone number.
  • Step 7: After that, you will get the e-KYC details via a consent prompt.
  • Step 8: At this step, you have to agree to all of the terms and conditions and enter the OTP.
  • Step 9: After completing this, a confirmation message confirming the re-verification of the phone number and Aadhaar will be received.

Using Indian Postal Service's Website

You can also use the Indian Postal Service's Website: 

  • Step 1: Visit the Indian Postal Service website.
  • Step 2: Provide basic information such as your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  • Step 3: In this step, you have to click on the "PPB- Aadhaar Service" from the drop-down menu for the Service.
  • Step 4: Click on UIDAI-Mobile or Email to Link/Update your Aadhaar.
  • Step 5: After making your selections and completing the required fields, you have to click on the "Request OTP" button.
  • Step 6: Enter the OTP received on your phone in the subsequent screen.
  • Step 7: You must click "Confirm Service Request." Thereafter, your application will be assigned a Reference Number so that you can keep track of its progress. Once the request has been submitted successfully, it will be sent to your local(nearest) post office.
  • Step 8: A person in charge of the Aadhaar update/linking task will carry out the verification procedure. A police officer will then come to your specified address to use a mobile biometric gadget to verify your identity (photographs, iris, and fingerprints)
  • Step 9: Once the update/linking process is complete, they will charge you for the Service.

Visit the closest Aadhaar Enrolment/Update centre to link your Aadhaar card to your phone number. Please follow the instructions below to register or update the mobile number on your Aadhaar card:

Step 1: Use "https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx" to find the closest Aadhaar enrolment/update centre.

Step 2: If you are new to the UIDAI ecosystem, enter your mobile number in the Aadhaar Enrollment Form to register it with an Aadhaar card. If you have changed your current mobile number or did not register it previously, you can also fill out the Aadhaar Correction Form.

Step 3: Fill out the form, authenticate using your biometrics, and pay.

Step 4: The executive will give you an acknowledgement slip.

Step 5: You can find out the details about the status of your Aadhaar using the Update Request Number (URN) included on the slip. You can also check your Aadhaar update status similarly.

Step 7: After upgrading the mobile number on your Aadhaar, you will not need to get another Aadhaar card.

Step 8: After connecting your mobile number to your Aadhaar card, you will begin receiving Aadhaar OTPs to use a diverse range of services.

Linking Your Aadhaar with Mobile Number: Is there any fee?

At the time of Aadhaar enrollment, there are no fees associated with linking your Aadhaar card with your mobile number. You will need to pay Rs. 50 (including GST) if you want to link, replace, or update your Aadhaar-registered mobile number, though. Keep in mind that there is no extra charge if numerous fields are updated at once.

Approach 2:

  • Click "Verify Email/Mobile Number" on the Aadhaar Services section of the UIDAI website.
  • Your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and captcha code must be entered after clicking Verify Mobile Number.
  • To find out if your mobile number has been validated with UIDAI records, click "Send OTP."
