8th Pay Commission latest update: The Ministry of Finance has said decisions on the notification for the constitution of the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC), the appointment of its chairperson and members, and the timeline will be decided in due course.
In a written reply to a query in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday (February 4, 2025), the finance ministry confirmed the decision of the government to constitute the 8th CPC and all other decisions will be taken soon.
"The Government has approved constitution of the 8th Central Pay Commission," Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, said.

Responding to other queries related to the timeline of the 8th CPC, appointment of its chairperson, members, and notification for its constitution, Chaudhary said, "Will be decided in due course."
