EPFO has introduced a new facility called joint declaration on its member e-Seva portal.
Updating details on your Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) account has become easier as one does not have to make offline submissions. The EPFO has introduced a new facility called "joint declaration" on its member e-Seva portal, allowing Provident Fund (PF) members to complete their Know Your Customer (KYC) and update details in their accounts.
The joint declaration form allows PF members to rectify inaccurate account details. The form requires the employee and employer's signatures before being submitted online to the regional PF Commissioner for corrections.
The 11 parameters that can be modified include name, gender, date of birth, father/mother name, marital status, relationship, Aadhaar number, nationality, date of joining, date of leaving and reason for leaving.
A member is allowed to make changes in up to five parameters whether submitted through single or multiple joint declaration requests.
"In case the changes are in more than five parameters, the matter will be thoroughly examined by the OIC (Officer-in-Charge), and only after duly recording the reasons in the file such cases should be processed. However, in case of any exception, the matter will be thoroughly examined by the OIC, and only after duly recording the reasons in the file such cases should be processed," EPFO said.
Once a request is submitted, it will appear in the employer's login, and an email will automatically be sent to the employer's registered email address.
After approval from the employer, the joint declaration is sent to the EPFO office. The changes made by the user will be visible after the PF authority approves them.
