Benchmark indices settled lower on Wednesday, March 26. SENSEX dropped 728 points to 77,288, while NIFTY shed 0.77% to 23,486. In the NIFTY50 pack, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finance are top laggards.

According to the NSE data, of 2,882 listed stocks, 605 are trading in positive territory, 2,221 have declined, and 56 stocks remain unchanged.

The leading stocks in the NIFTY50 space are Trent, IndusInd, Mahindra & Mahindra, HCLTech, and Bharti Airtel.

Shares of L&T rose 0.65% to ₹3,492 apiece on the National Stock Exchange after the hydrocarbon arm on Wednesday secured an ultra-mega project worth over ₹15,000 crore from Qatar Energy LNG.

Shares of Siemens India are trading 5% after it received NCLT nod for energy business demerger. The record date for demerge is set as April 7.

In the NIFTY50 pack, Bajaj Auto, Axis Bank, L&T, Tech Mahindra, and NTPC are the top losers.

State-owned NBCC (India) Ltd shares climbed 0.34% to ₹83.44 apiece on the NSE after the company secured a ₹439 crore order from the Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Board (UIIDB).

Shares of ONGC rose 0.52% on the NSE after the company's board approved the appointment of Vikram Saxena, Director (Technology and Field Services), as a key managerial personnel (KMP) with immediate effect.
