Market Wrap: The domestic equity market ended Monday's session (December 30) on a negative note as selling in index heavyweights such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, RIL, and Infosys dragged the benchmark indices lower.

The Federal Reserve, in its latest policy meeting, projected a slower pace of rate cuts in 2025, which has boosted US Treasury yields. These two factors have lowered the lure of emerging market assets.

Moreover, muted Asian stocks and weak European peers, too, weighed on the sentiment. Besides, the weak rupee and continuous selling by overseas investors also dented sentiment.
