Budget 2025: Shares of FMCG, consumer durable goods, auto, and real estate stocks jumped in trade after FM announced tax reforms. The key highlight of the budget was extending the nil tax limit from ₹7 lakh earlier to ₹12 lakh.

Shares of FMCG companies like Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Marico, Dabur and Godrej Consumer, Britannia, and Tata Consumer jumped 2% to 5.5%. Apart from the FMCG majo₹, shares of food delivery companies like Zomato and Swiggy jumped more than 5% in trade as the tax rate tweaked.

Followed by the FMCG stocks, NIFTY consumer durable also jumped 1.88% in the trade after the budget speech concluded

The key automobile manufacturers also jumped in the trade as the revision in the tax rate is expected to boost the demand for vehicles. Shares of Maruti Suzuki, M&M, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors, Eicher Motors, and Hero Moto Corp all jumped from 3% to 5.5%.

What changed in tax rates For taxpayers with up to ₹12 lakh income, other than special rate interest such as capital gains, the finance minister said that tax rebate is being provided, in addition to slab rate restructure, in such a manner that no tax will be payable by them for income up to up to ₹12 lakh.

In addition, FM says the new tax slab and rates in the new regime will make income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free if the individual doesn't have special interest income.

Income up to ₹ 4 lakh (per annum) ----- Nil

Between ₹4 and 8 lakh ---------------- 5% (tax)

Between ₹8 and 12 lakh --------------- 10%

Between ₹12 and 16 lakh -------------- 15%

Between ₹16 and 20 lakh --------------- 20%

Between ₹20 and 24 lakh -------------- 25%

Above ₹24 lakh ------------------------- 30 %
