Deepinder Goyal, the founder and CEO of Zomato, the food delivery aggregator with a market capitalisation of more than ₹2.23 lakh crore, introduced ‘Zomato for Enterprise’ (ZFE) on August 28 in a post on X.

The platform enables enterprises to prepay for business-related meals instead of the employees paying first and the company reimbursing them for it later.

“Excited to introduce Zomato for Enterprise (ZFE), a platform designed for companies to solve food expense management,” he said in the post.

Goyal pointed out that the process of reimbursement is “cumbersome and time-consuming”. Many Zomato orders by corporate professionals are work-related and are reimbursed by the company later. To avoid this and bring a direct platform, Zomato has launched its new line of business, aiming to gain clients from the corporate world.

Here’s how it will work

A Zomato blog post made in September 2023 delved into some of the details about the scheme. The ZFE platform will work on the distribution of prepaid payment instruments issued by Pine Labs, a company that provides point-of-sales systems and payment systems.

Through Pine Labs, the payments will be facilitated on the Zomato platform. Corporate employees will be able to switch between their personal and business profiles on the Zomato app.

To activate the service, corporate customers will have to provide personal information and documents like name, address, phone number, email, address proof, PAN Card, etc., along with a refundable security deposit. These details will be shared with Pine Labs through Zomato.

Goyal, in his post on X, said that companies can set budgets, add employees, define ordering rules and more.

“With ZFE, employees can simply bill their business orders directly to their employer, without having to pay. Companies can use ZFE to add employees, set budgets, define ordering rules and much more. ZFE adds convenience to your employees, while we take care of the rest - with complete transparency,”

He added that the product has already been tested and more than 100 top enterprises are already making use of ZFE. He invited corporate leaders to contact Zomato and try ZFE in their organisations.
