US tech giant Apple is planning to launch its latest affordable iPhone SE 4 in early 2025, around the month of March, as per a report by Live Mint saying that Barclays analyst Tom O'Malley hinted at the release after discussions with major electronics suppliers in Asia. The new model is expected to have significant upgrades as compared to the old design of the previous versions in the series.

The current iPhone SE models are considered to be inspired by the iPhone 8, while the latest model iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to seek inspiration from newer models like the iPhone 14 and have features like a sleek display and Face ID technology, the report said.

All about iPhone SE 4

Reportedly, the new model of the series is expected to have an advanced A-series chip and will enable a faster and more user-friendly experience. Many reports suggest that it would have a 48MP rear camera, 8GB of RAM and a USB-C port.

This smartphone might be Apple’s first 5G modem developed in-house. This can reduce the company’s reliance on Qualcomm.

The new model iPhone SE 4 can cost slightly more than the current model in the series, starting at $429, the report said.

Apple’s self-developed chips

Qualcomm stock has been downgraded by President Capital Management citing challenges and regulatory risks following Apple’s shift to self-developed 4G/5G modem chips, according to a report by Investing.com. This move by Apple can immensely impact Qualcomm’s profit margins. However, the company is working on diversifying its revenue streams considering the nearing end of its partnership with Apple.
