Semiconductor shortage to ease soon

Industry experts believe that chip shortage, which crippled automotive production, is at the peak currently. However, the supply could ease off a bit from January 2022 and is expected to further ease in the second half of 2022. 

Meanwhile, shares of Indian automotive majors such as Maruti Suzuki (+6.4%), Tata Motors (+4.1%) and M&M (+4.3%) saw strong buying interest yesterday ahead of the upcoming festive season. In fact these stocks were the top gainers in the Nifty50 pack yesterday. 


NBCC bags its biggest overseas deal

State-owned construction company, NBCC has bagged a ₹968 crore contract for construction of 2,000 social housing units in Maldives. Reportedly, this is the biggest overseas project for the company. 

The project will span over 7.2 acre and is expected to be completed over a period of 900 days. Yesterday, the shares of NBCC were up by 2.1% and they have gained over 7% this month. 


Crude oil rises on supply issues

US crude oil prices rose for the fifth straight day yesterday and rose above $75 mark. The supply issues coupled with the rising demand lead to prices hitting two month high. 

Oil demand has revived post the second wave. Further, the US oil inventories are at two year low due to hurricane-caused supply chain issues.
