About Canara Robeco Asset Management Co. Limited

Incorporated in 1993, Canara Robeco Asset Management Company (“Canara Robeco AMC”) is India’s second-oldest asset management company. The company manages mutual fund schemes and provides investment advisory services to Robeco Hong Kong Limited, part of its promoter group. According to CRISIL, the company has the second-highest share of retail AUM amongst the top 20 AMCs in India as of June 2025 and the third-highest share of equity AUM.
Canara Robeco AMC operates as a joint venture between Canara Bank (51%) and ORIX Corporation Europe N.V. (49%), combining a strong domestic distribution base with global investment expertise. As of June 30, 2025, the company managed 26 mutual fund schemes with 12 equity, 10 debt, and four hybrid schemes having a Quarterly Average Assets Under Management (QAAUM) of ₹1.11 lakh crore. Its QAAUM increased at a CAGR of 28.6% between FY23 and FY25, while equity-oriented QAAUM increased at an even higher CAGR of 30.96%.
Canara Robeco AMC possesses a robust retail franchise, with individual retail investors making up for 50 lakh folios as of June 30, 2025 and accounting for 86.87% of its total Monthly Average AUM (MAAUM). Meanwhile, the company has around 5 lakh institutional folios.
The company’s distribution network includes over 52,000 partners, including Canara Bank's 9,861 branches, 44 banks, 548 national distributors, and 51,750 mutual fund distributors. Moreover, it has 25 branches in 23 cities in 14 states and 2 union territories, supported by an expanding digital ecosystem. Additionally, its direct digital plans held 26.55% of MAAUM as of June 2025, indicating successful digital adoption.
The product offerings of Canara Robeco AMC are rooted in a research-based investment process. Seven of its equity schemes have a legacy of more than 10 years, all of which have performed better than their respective benchmarks over 10 years (direct plans). The company’s equity MF portfolio ranges across large cap, flexi cap, small cap, sectoral and hybrid funds, while its debt MF portfolio assumes a conservative credit strategy with 75.83% of investments in AAA/A1+ rated products and no exposure to structured debt or AT1 bonds, reflecting its risk-averse investment philosophy.
The Indian mutual fund industry has seen strong growth, with overall AUM growing at an 18.4% CAGR during FY19-FY25. The growth is fueled by improving SIP inflows (comprehensively over ₹20,000 crore a month), improving financial awareness, and higher penetration of cities in the B-30 (beyond top-30 cities) category.
Positioned as the country’s second-oldest AMC with a 28.6% AUM CAGR and strong equity-oriented portfolio (30.96% CAGR) between FY23-FY25, Canara Robeco is well placed to leverage this high-growth phase through its digital platforms, Canara Bank’s extensive distribution network, and focus on thematic and diversified product offerings.
The company seeks to continue to focus on delivering sustained investment performance through a robust research-driven process. Through its diversified pan-India multi-channel sales and distribution network, the company intends to further expand its total AUM from new and existing clients. With the present portfolio being equity-focused, the company wants to increase its AUM contribution from debt-oriented schemes. It is also testing out new digital platform features that will seek to simplify operations and improve user experience.
Now, Canara Robeco Asset Management Company Ltd is launching its initial public offering (IPO), which is a complete offer for sale of ₹1,326.13 crore. Its shares will be listed on the NSE and BSE.
