Emami Limited is the flagship company of the Emami Group. Today, the company’s products are available at more than 49 lakh retail outlets in India and a network of more than 3,200 distributors. History of Emami Group

In the 1970s, childhood friends RS Agarwal and RS Goenka decided to quit their corporate jobs to launch a business venture. They founded Kemco Chemicals in 1974. This company focused on manufacturing cosmetic products and Ayurvedic medicine. In 1978, the company acquired Himani Ltd, and this was a turning point in the company’s history. In 1995, Kemco Chemicals became a Public Limited Company and its name was changed to Emami Ltd. In 1998, both Emami Ltd. and Himani Ltd. were merged. The new entity was named Emami Ltd.
