The Sensex is an index which is also known as the BSE 30, is a stock market index comprising 30 well-established and financially sound companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Sensex and Nifty serve as indicators of market movement. If the Sensex or Nifty rises, it signifies that the majority of stocks in India experienced an increase during the given period. Conversely, a decline in the Sensex indicates that the stock prices of most major stocks on the BSE have fallen.
