Nykaa posts a lacklustre Q3
The online beauty and fashion retailer’s net profit declined 58% YoY to ₹29 crore. However, the company's revenue jumped 36% YoY to ₹1,098 crore.
This sharp fall in the company's net profit was due to higher marketing and employee benefits expenses. However, the company's gross merchandise value grew 49%YoY, and its average monthly unique user grew by 39%. Nykaa's shares closed 0.7% lower, but the results were announced after market hours.
Tata Power's Q3 profit surges
The power company's net profit zoomed 74% YoY to ₹552 crore, beating the street estimate of ₹520 crore. The management said that strong growth across its business verticals boosted profitability.
In the same period, the company reported a revenue of ₹11,015 crore, up 42%. This sharp rise in the top line was led by its transmission business, which reported a 83% rise in its revenue. Meanwhile, its renewable energy segment witnessed a 107% rise in net profit. Shares of Tata Power were up 1.5% yesterday, but the results were announced after market hours.
Aurobindo Pharma’s profit shrinks
The Hyderabad-based drugmaker's net profit plunged 22% YoY to ₹604 crore, missing the street estimate of ₹765 crore. Its revenue also declined 1% to ₹6,002 crore.
The management said that higher input and freight costs impacted the company's profitability. Its revenue from the US business declined 13% YoY. The US business accounts for 46% of its total revenue. Shares of Aurobindo Pharma were up 0.5% yesterday, but the results were announced post market hours.
