Gold prices plunged by ₹1,310 per 10 grams in major Indian cities on Wednesday, November 27, for the third straight day of losses, even as the precious metal moved in a range in global markets. Weak domestic demand and global trends weighed on the precious metal in local markets.

The US dollar index traded near 107 against major world currencies, driving up the greenback following US President-elect Donald Trump's threats to hike tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China.

Reports of peace talks between Israel and Hezbollah also cut its appeal as a safe haven option.

Spot gold is trading in a range in the global markets. In early Asian trade, it was quoted marginally lower at $2,631 an ounce. The metal moved between $2,627 an ounce and $2,635 an ounce in overnight trade.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices declined by ₹1,310 to ₹77,380 per 10 grams and 22K gold by ₹1,200 to ₹70,940 per 10 grams.

Silver prices also declined by ₹2,000 to ₹89,400 per kg in major Indian cities on Wednesday due to weak offtake by industrial units. Silver moved in a range in global markets as investors awaited more signals on the Federal Reserve's rate cut.

Spot silver dropped 0.30% to $30.29 an ounce in global markets. The metal hit a high of $30.45 an ounce and a low of $30.45 an ounce in overnight trade.
