Social media platform X faced a major outage on Monday, with tens of thousands of users across multiple countries reporting access issues, according to outage-tracking website Downdetector.

Reports of disruptions began around 2:53 p.m. IST, with users experiencing problems on both the web and mobile app versions of X.

As of 3:50 p.m. IST, more than 22,000 users in the United States and over 10,000 users in the United Kingdom had reported issues, Downdetector data showed.

Service was gradually restored, with X coming back online after nearly an hour of downtime.

The cause of the outage remains unclear.
