hree Adani group firms -- Adani New Industries Ltd, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) and Ambuja Cements Ltd -- have joined the World Economic Forum's 'Transitioning Industrial Clusters' initiative, forming the Adani Mundra Cluster.
This initiative aims to enhance collaboration and align the vision of co-located companies to drive economic growth, generate employment and advance decarbonisation by 2050, the group said in a statement.

COAI raises concerns over Trai's recommendations for service authorisations framework
The industry body Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) on Monday voiced concerns over the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (Trai) recent views on the service authorisations framework, saying the contractual nature of present licences must be retained in the authorisation process for regulatory certainty and safeguarding long-term investors.
The telecom association - whose members include Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea - also expressed concerns over the exclusion of OTT communications services under the new authorisation framework.

Courier services provider Blue Dart Express on Monday said it will increase the prices of its shipments between 9-12 per cent from January 1, 2025.
The pricing adjustments for 2025, which include inflationary adjustments and cost rationalisation, are designed to partly cover spiraling long-term costs, such as rising input costs to operations, including airline operating costs and infrastructure costs, among others, the company said.

CRED reports 66% revenue growth to ₹2,473 crore in FY24
Credit card bill payments app CRED on Monday reported 66% year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹2,473 crore in FY24, on the back of growth in monetised members and a drop in user acquisition costs.
Operating losses were reduced by 41% from ₹1,024 crore in FY23 to ₹609 crore in FY24, a company statement said.

Sony India grows 21% in 2023-24; bets big on premium TV segment
Consumer electronics giant Sony India recorded a 21% growth in 2023-24 and expects to continue the momentum going forward led by the trend of premiumisation in the TV and consumer electronics space, Managing Director Sunil Nayyar said on Monday.
However, the company expects a moderation in the growth rates in the current fiscal, he said, adding it "may be not to the level which we have registered last year, because of the high base effect".

US agricultural equipment maker AGCO Corporation on Monday said it has terminated multiple agreements with Indian tractor manufacturer Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) with immediate effect.
The terminations include the Massey Ferguson brand license agreement, a distributor agreement for India, Nepal, and Bhutan, and an intellectual property license agreement for India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, it added.

Govt imposes mandatory quality norms for screws; violation attracts penal provisions
he government has imposed mandatory quality norms for certain types of screws to curb the import of sub-standard goods, boost domestic manufacturing and ensure consumer safety.
According to the order, the item cannot be produced, sold, traded, imported or stocked unless it bears the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) mark.
Violation of the provision of the act can attract imprisonment of up to two years or a fine of at least ₹2 lakh for the first offence. In case of second and subsequent offences, the fine will increase to a minimum of ₹5 lakh and extend up to 10 times of the value of goods or articles.

India’s OMCs likely to add 35-40 MT of crude oil refining capacity by end of FY30: Crisil Ratings
In order to meet the growing energy demands of the country, CRISIL Ratings has said that India’s oil marketing companies (OMCs) are expected to add 35-40 million tonnes (MT) of crude oil refining capacity by the end of the fiscal 2029-30. This will take the total installed capacity of the country for crude refining capacity to 295 MT by 2030.
This expansion will be driven by the projected growth in domestic oil consumption as India's existing refining capacity is already operating at optimal levels of 100-103 per cent utilisation. The expansion will require a capital expenditure of around₹1.9-2.2 lakh crore, with most of the capacity additions being brownfield expansions.
