In July 2024, banks will remain shut for a total of 12 days this month

A total of 12 bank holidays will be observed in July 2024, according to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar. These holidays include regional and state-specific holidays apart from public and private sector lenders being shut for regular second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays.

In June, banks remained closed for Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji, Maharana Pratap Jayanti, Raja Sankranti, Bakri Eid (Id-Uz-Zuha), Young Mizo Association Day, and Vat Savitri Vrat.

Which are the bank holidays in July 2024?

The banks will be closed in July on the occasions of Beh Dienkhlam, Kang, MHIP Day, Drukpa Tshe-zi, Harela, Muharram, U Tirot Sing Day, and Ashoora. They will also remain closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.

Due to public holidays, customers of public and private banks should plan their branch visits accordingly after checking if their state or union territory (UT) has notified a holiday.

  • July 3: Behdienkhlam, a festival celebrating the end of the sowing season, will be observed in Meghalaya.
  • July 6: Mizoram will mark a bank holiday for Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP) day. MHIP is the state's largest women's organisation.
  • July 7: Sunday
  • July 8: Banks will be closed on this date in Manipur for Kang (Rathajatra).
  • July 9: Sikkim will be observing Drukpa Tshe-zi
  • July 13: Second Saturday
  • July 14: Sunday
  • July 16: A bank holiday will be marked in Uttarakhand for Harela on this date.
  • July 17: Banks in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tripura will mark Muharram, Ashoora and U Tirot Sing Day.
  • July 21: Sunday
  • July 27: Fourth Saturday
  • July 28: Sunday

It should be noted that online banking and ATM services will remain unaffected on the dates mentioned above.
