December 2024 bank holidays: Banks to remain closed on 17 days; check the full state-wise list

As the final month of the year, December is marked by festivals, religious observances, and commemorative events across various states. These holidays, governed by regional customs and traditions, result in banks being closed on specific days in different parts of the country.

Banks are expected to remain closed for a total of 17 days in December in different states and union territories . Apart from the public holidays on two Saturdays and five Sundays, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) website suggests that the scheduled and non-scheduled banks in the country will remain closed for 10 days due to local and national holidays.

The second and fourth Saturday of the month falls on December 14 and December 28. The month of December will also see five Sundays – December 1, December 8, December 15, December 22, and December 29.
