Economic Survey 2025: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey 2024-25 in Parliament on Friday, a day before the Union Budget presentation.
The Budget session will begin on Friday, January 31, and conclude on April 4. It will be held in two tranches: one from January 31 to February 13 and another from March 10 to April 4.
The Economic Survey is an official assessment of the economy's performance in the current financial year. It also outlines the country's current challenges and provides a roadmap for reforms and growth.
The Economic Survey is prepared by a team led by Chief Economic Adviser of India, V Anantha Nageswaran.
The document, released before the Union Budget, highlights key trends in the economy and various sectors, such as agriculture, industry, and services, and provides a forecast for the upcoming financial year.
The report is expected to assess key developments, such as slowing growth, subdued consumption demand, and the declining value of the rupee against the US dollar.
The Economic Survey will also provide a detailed assessment of GDP growth, agricultural and industrial output, inflation trends, and employment levels.
The Finance Minister will present the Economic Survey 2024-25 shortly after the President's address in Parliament at 11 am on Friday. The presentation will be live-streamed on Sansad TV and PIB India's official YouTube and X (formerly Twitter) platforms.
The live telecast will be available on Sansad TV and DD News.
CEA V Anantha Nageswaran will also hold a press conference on the Economic Survey 2024-25 at 2:30 pm at National Media Centre, New Delhi.
