Starting 21 Nov, F&O lot sizes of major NSE and BSE indices are increasing.

Here are the details:

Note:
1.⁠ ⁠The last expiry dates for the existing lot sizes are mentioned here.
2.⁠ ⁠After 24 December 2024: if you hold F&O contracts in BANKNIFTY quarterly or half-yearly expiries that do not match the new lot size, you won’t be able to close the position and will have to hold it until expiry.
3.⁠ ⁠After 26 December 2024: If you hold F&O contracts in NIFTY quarterly or half-yearly expiries that do not match the new lot size, you won’t be able to close the position and will have to hold it until expiry.
4.⁠ ⁠After 27 December 2024: If you hold F&O contracts in SENSEX quarterly or half-yearly expiries that do not match the new lot size, you won’t be able to close the position and will have to hold it until expiry.

To avoid this, you can either buy or sell more contracts to match the revised lot size or square off the position beforehand.
