Top gainers and losers on July 30: M&M, Coal India, Eicher Motors up 2%; Adani Ports down 3% were among top movers

Stock market today: The equity benchmark indices, NIFTY50 and SENSEX, closed higher after the trading session on Thursday, July 30, as IT and auto heavyweight stocks, along with foreign fund inflows in the Indian markets, supported the overall gains amid lower oil prices.

The NIFTY50 closed 0.28% or 66.95 points higher at 24,317.15 points after Thursday’s trading session, compared to 24,250.20 points at the previous stock market close, according to NSE data.

Meanwhile, the BSE SENSEX index ended 0.35% or 273.55 points higher at 77,928.15 points after the trading session on July 30, compared to 76,654.60 points at the previous stock market close, as per the exchange data.

Investors were focused on stock-specific and sector-focused action against the backdrop of the April to June quarter earnings announcements for the financial year 2026-27.

NIFTY50 top gainers & losers today

Stocks like Mahindra & Mahindra, Coal India, Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, Tata Motors PV, Wipro, ONGC, and Max Healthcare were among the top gainers on the NIFTY50 index as of the stock market close on Thursday.

Mahindra & Mahindra gained 2.2%, Coal India gained 1.7%, Eicher Motors gained 1.6%, Maruti Suzuki India gained 1.6%, Tata Motors PV gained 1.5%, Wipro gained 1.5%, ONGC gained 1.2%, and Max Healthcare gained 1.1% on July 30.

Others like Adani Ports, HDFC Life Insurance, Shriram Finance, SBI Life Insurance, Jio Financial Services, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Bajaj Finserv, and BEL were among other laggards on the benchmark index as of the market close on Thursday, July 30.

Adani Ports lost 3.3%, HDFC Life Insurance lost 2%, Shriram Finance lost 1.5%, SBI Life Insurance lost 1.4%, Jio Financial Services lost 1.1%, IndiGo lost 1.1%, Bajaj Finserv lost 0.8%, and BEL lost 0.7%.

Out of the 50 stocks listed on the NIFTY50 index, 25 stocks ended in the positive territory, while the remaining 25 stocks ended in the red zone after the trading session on July 30.
